Reflexology with Meridian Therapy
What is reflexology?
What is meridian therapy?
In traditional Chinese medicine the meridians are the pathways in which the energy or qi flows around the body.
There are 6 main acupuncture meridians found in the feet starting at the toes and running up through the body. The meridians found on the feet are connected to various organs, namely, the spleen/stomach, liver/gall bladder, bladder/kidneys.
By combining some of the theory of acupuncture and reflexology together, it can further enhance your reflexology treatment.
How can it help me?
People choose to have reflexology for many reasons, although sometimes you might feel you just need some space to unwind, then reflexology is the perfect remedy for this.
Usually after your treatment any tension you may be experiencing will start to reduce and you will start to feel more relaxed. And when the body is relaxed, it can start to heal.
Other effects of reflexology that you might notice:
- Better sleep
- Improved mood and wellbeing
- Stress reduction
- Improved circulation of blood and oxygen
- Balanced hormones
- Increased energy
As reflexology is a holistic treatment, dietary and lifestyle factors are considered during the diagnosis and any recommendations may be incorporated into your ongoing treatment.
All the reflex points on the feet and any relevant acupressure points along the meridians maybe worked during the session, which can influence the whole body. Leaving you feeling relaxed, calm and nurtured and ready for the rest of the day!
