About the Wellum Clinic
About Nyki
BSc (Hons), LicAc, MBAcC, DipION, mBANT, CNHC
I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Acupuncture following 3.5 years of training at the prestigious College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading.
Having experienced an extended period of ill health despite every test being non conclusive I understand the frustrations of not always successfully finding answers through the traditional route of Western Medicine. Research and becoming my own health advocate made me see the body in a different light leading to the regaining of my health through lifestyle changes.
Exploring alternative medicine modalities led me to Chinese Medicine and my own experience was so profound with it helping not only my physical health but also my mental and emotional well-being that I decided to use my own experience as the catalyst for a career in Chinese Medicine.
My area of focus is supporting women like myself who are struggling with their health despite their test results being normal and in particular Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
In addition I have completed a full time 18 month postgraduate diploma in Integrated functional nutrition from Portsmouth University in conjunction with the highly regarded Institute of Optimum Nutrition. To further my understanding of complex conditions, I am in my second year of professional continuing education with Robyn Puglia and her renowned “Autoimmune Academy Mentorship Program”
My decision to undertake postgraduate education was to offer an integrative approach combining time-tested Eastern healing through acupuncture, with the addition of tailored nutritional strategies based on individual needs, and the latest advancements in functional testing. Together, these three pillars offer a comprehensive, personalised path to restoring balance, addressing root causes of illness, and achieving long-term vitality.
I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) who have a strict code of Professional Conduct and Safe Practice. I regularly attend continuous professional development training and clinical supervision sessions.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with friends, walking in the beautiful Chiltern hills with my dog Oscar and when I get the opportunity, spending time in the Swiss alps which is like medicine for the soul.
About Rebecca
TCM & Five Element Acupuncturist –BSc (Hons), LicAc
BAcC
Since qualifying in 2008 from the renowned College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, I have been passionate about practising acupuncture in clinics across Buckinghamshire, within the beautiful Chiltern hills & more recently in Thame, Oxfordshire.
I enjoy the integrated approach to treatment that my training provided, supporting both Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and the Five Element model of diagnosis. I have always been interested in health and wellness and embarked upon my acupuncture degree after receiving treatment 20 years ago. I was so impressed by the positive results to my health and wellbeing, that it inspired me to change my then career path and study acupuncture.
Over the years, I have developed a special interest in treating women’s health concerns and how this can impact them at different times in their life. In practice I treat a wide variety of conditions, assisting both men and women.
After qualifying I spent some years working with patients in the Cancer care unit at Stoke Mandeville hospital, providing relief from the side effects of their treatment. I completed further studies in this area during my time there.
I strongly believe in the importance of incorporating dietary and lifestyle advice into the treatment process when required. I use a Chinese dietary approach, which focuses on the ‘energetics’ of food and how this impacts you as an individual. Where appropriate I offer lifestyle advice specific to your needs, to further benefit you alongside the acupuncture.
In my spare time I like to spend time with friends and family, walk in nature and find new and nutritious recipes to cook. As well as teaching and practising Tai chi & Qigong, I am a keen practitioner of yoga and meditation.
About Laura
BSc (Hons)
I have a deep respect for both science and spirit, bringing together evidence informed knowledge and intuitive therapies to support the whole person; body, mind and soul. I am a qualified physiotherapist and holistic practitioner offering Reiki, Auricular Acupuncture (Five Point Protocol), and essential oil therapy. I offer a safe, supportive space for you to reconnect with your inner balance, release stress, and nourish your wellbeing from the inside out.
My journey into healing began through my own search for balance, purpose, and peace. I believe that our bodies and minds have an incredible ability to heal when given the right support, and its a privilege to walk alongside others on their path to wellbeing. Since a young child, I have been drawn to complimentary therapies and felt called to help others. I would instinctively offer healing through my hands without fully understanding why but I loved being able to help friends and family in this way.
This led me to train as a Physiotherapist, where I gained a First Class Honours and spent 10 years working in the NHS in a variety of settings including mental health, paediatrics, intensive care, neurology, women’s health, respiratory care, and general musculoskeletal rehabilitation in both acute hospital and the community. While I found the work deeply rewarding, I often felt limited by the system – it didn’t allow me to care for the whole person in the way I instinctively wanted to.
And so, my journey continued beyond conventional healthcare, into the world of complimentary therapies. I trained in Usui Reiki Ryoho, a traditional Japanese energy healing practice, and auricular acupuncture through the NADA protocol. These gentle yet powerful tools allow me to support people not just physically, but emotionally, energetically, and spiritually and offer a more integrated, person-centred approach to wellbeing.
I am also a certified APPI Pilates teacher, hold a TQUK level 2 certificate in counselling skills (RQF) and have trained as an adult and youth mental health first aider. These qualifications help me create a safe, supportive space for those navigating emotional challenges as well as physical ones. I hope to offer a calm, nurturing space where people feel safe and restored where you have the time to prioritise your wellbeing, healing and growth.
Clients often tell me they feel deeply seen, heard, and supported in our sessions. That’s exactly what I aim to offer; a calm, nonjudgmental space where you can just be, breathe, and begin to restore. Whether you are seeking relief from stress or anxiety, dealing with physical symptoms, or simply feel the need for emotional or energetic balance, I’m here to help you reconnect with your own soul purpose and inner strength.
